{"id":13107,"date":"2021-02-24T10:00:59","date_gmt":"2021-02-24T09:00:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/clinter.es\/blog\/the-hague-apostille\/"},"modified":"2025-07-30T12:04:09","modified_gmt":"2025-07-30T10:04:09","slug":"the-hague-apostille","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/clinter.es\/en\/blog\/the-hague-apostille\/","title":{"rendered":"The Hague Apostille: what is it?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Hague Apostille is a type of notarial certification that is used to certify the authenticity of a document\u2019s signature, <strong>allowing it to be used outside of its country of origin.<\/strong> It takes the form of a note or stamp.<\/p>\n<p>This certification owes its name to a document agreed upon and signed by various countries called the <em>Hague Convention Abolishing the Requirement of Legalization for Foreign Public Documents<\/em> at the 1961 Hague Convention.<\/p>\n<p>To date, these are the countries that have signed the Apostille Treaty.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-6654\" src=\"https:\/\/clinter.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Captura-300x213.png\" alt=\"paises convenio de la haya\" width=\"617\" height=\"438\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>The documents requiring a Hague Apostille are: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Judicial documents:<\/strong>\u00a0Documents issued by an authority or official linked to a State jurisdiction, including those issued by the Public Prosecutor&#8217;s Office or from a clerk, officer or bailiff.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Administrative documents.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Official certifications that have been placed on private documents, such as the certification of the registration of a document, the certification of the certainty of a date and official and notarial authentications of signatures on documents of a private nature.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In Spain, you can go to different public bodies, such as the Oficina Central de Atenci\u00f3n al Ciudadano of the Ministry of Justice to include the Hague Apostille in a document.<\/p>\n<p>Source: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mjusticia.gob.es\/es\/ciudadanos\/tramites\/legalizacion-unica-apostilla\">Ministry of Justice<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Hague Apostille is a type of notarial certification that is used to certify the authenticity of a document\u2019s signature, allowing it to be used outside of its country of origin.
